The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
